-My initial thoughts on Into the Wild are curiosity. I think it is very cool and brave of McCandless to do what he wants to do. The curiosity comes from what he leaves. He is an intelligent person with no money issues and he does what he wants.
-I think the word courageous displays Chris' character. He has what a lot of people would want, and in a way throughs that away to do something many people would look down upon.
-I think author Krakauer is trying to magnify the theme of personal accomplishment. He shows this by using a person who wants something other then the ordinary, Chris is an individual who wants to experince his independance. Krakauer could be trying to tell us to go out and get what we want regardless of the "social norm."
-I relate Chris to Bear Grills of "Man vs Wild." This is more of a litteral connection then anything because Bear Grills is a man who travels places with no humanity and lives off of the land. This is what Chris did.
-I could relate the story of Chris to my brother. Its a totally different situation but similar orginiality in accomplishment theme. My brother decided he wanted to do plays and singing instead of sports. This may seem simple, but at first my brother was afraid of going after what he wanted because he is the youngets of the family who follows a family that revolves around sports. His choice to render free of other peoples opinions and do what he wants is in parrallell to Chris.

Negative Review of Mr. 3000
In September of 2004, a movie is brought to the world that brings nothing to the table. “Mr. 3000” is a tale of a baseball player, Stan Ross, who is a cocky athlete. Retiring after setting his MLB record of 3000 hits, Stan Ross does nothing but role in his success. Loving life being known as Mr. 3000, Stan Ross does everything to make people dislike him. Upon review by MLB statistics holder it is discovered that Stan Ross- Mr. 3000- is actually Mr. 2997. It is found that 3 of Stan Ross’ hits shouldn’t have counted. Stan Ross is stripped of his batting record. When Stan Ross figured out that he is not the man he has bathed in his past retired years, he is furious. He makes the decision to go back to the MLB to try and get his record back. Stan Ross obviously cares nothing about the sport of baseball. He displays his selfishness by the way he plays baseball. When he gets back into the MLB he puts himself before his team, “He’s putting the “I” back in team,” as a teammate of Stan Ross’ jokes. Director Charles Stone III is clearly trying to humorously harass cocky athletes. This is obvious when reviewing the plot of the movie. Charles Stone III reveals the true character of Stan Ross by removing his swagger. He is a fool when he has no record to show. The theme is there but I don’t think it is a good one. The way the baseball scenes are put together it ruins the movie. It is impossible for the event of a record to be retracted from a player. Baseball has so many more opportunities to better put this theme to. I do not like the movie “Mr. 3000” it is worthless. The concept viewers are supposed to uncover is already known by civilized people.

Positive Movie Review 11/12
Van Wilder
In "Van Wilder" main character, Van Wilder, demonstrates the spitting image of a college failure. Son of a wealthy father, Van Wilder has been a student of Coolidge College for six years. When Van's father realizes when he needs to "cut his losses" he tells Van he is done paying for his college. Van Wilder being a famous partier at Coolidge seems to be hopeless. How would he manage to make payments and graduate college with no cash support? Just when his situation seems dier, Van is approached by a few students of a Fraturnity. The fraturnity is known as the "brains" of the school and they come to Van to expand socially. They offer Van $1,000 dollars to through them a party. Movie writer Brent Goldberg shows the audience how inteligince can make any skill shine. Van Wilder throws the Fratunity a party. The fallowing week the school news paper had uncovered the secret; van wilder had thrown that party. What had seemed to hurt van actually publisized him. Van Wilder is now im business. By throwing parties Van wilder gains enough money to make his way through college and graduate. The story demonstrates how hard work can pull through. Van Wilder could through parties, he used his skill to make his money to pay for his college. Brent Goldberg incorporates humor and suspense flawlessly in "Van Wilder" by setting a realistic and humorous college seen. By partying to much he lost his fathers respect and money, but in the end his partying skills provide him with everything he needs to get things done. The way the Goldberg brings a positive theme into college partying is original and interesting. He shows how perserverince with the motive to do right things leads to success, under what look to be impossible circumstances. Main character Van Wilder finds what it takes to earn a dollar. Throwing parties really took a toll on Van. This is when he got motivation to stop partying and to graduate. This motive is an important theme in "Van Wilder."

20 Minutes with the President
1)Dear Mr. President,
Congratulations on winning the election, you are now running the United States of America. Although you know how to do the job much better then I do, I have a few suggestions regarding how time and money could be spent to better our country. I feel money should be kept to the people who make it, and taxes should not be raised to much. I do understand taxes must be raised because money in the end helps better the future of our economy. I think you should put money towards a new source of energy because oil is gonna eventually run out, or a way to make oil at a cheep price. I think time needs to be spent first off to fix the economy now, our future is very important but in order to get there we need to fix the current problems at hand. What do you think is the best way to go about fixing the issues I brought up?
Sincerely,
Minnesota5
2)
a) In the year 2012 I will be leaving college and things will have changed. I think Obama will try and quit the war in Iraq so I'm guessing that in the next four years we wont have troops there. This will be a big change from now. I hope by pulling out our forces that the war stops. If we pull out and Iraq comes after us again, we could be right back where we started only with more drama and a loss of more money and lives. I hope by 2012 the war is over with no consequences.
b) Thinking ahead to when I will most likely be a husband with a family, I don't know if I'm confident that we will still be the world power. I once heard a statistic that said something along the lines of; no country has maintained power for over 100 years. When I heard this I was also told that we were not getting close to, but over the 100 years. Therefore, I think the biggest issue will be to maintain our status as a country. I would hope we could stay a dominant country because, if not, we could potentially fall under rule of another country.

Halloween
Halloween is a fun time for everyone. From kids trick or treating, teens and adults partying, everyone loves halloween. Yesterday I went out and baught a halloween costume for a party on friday. It was a tough decision but I ended up getting a genie costume. I think it will be fun to dress up as and funny at the same time. Also, I found out that when a friend of mine comes back from college over thanksgiving break they're throwing a party with the theme of "G." This means dress up as anything that starts with a G. My genie costume will be great for halloween and for the "G" party. This is cool and also makes me feel better about spending $45 on a costume.
10/13 Playing with poetry
1)Hard to explain
but surely wont fade
concepts may not be understandable
just as a proof
you must work for an answer
math is better done by two
doesn't mean they will ask about you
time it takes
and time it will consume
maybe in the end
more will bloom
not always taught
and hard to answer
love is like math
eventually you'll find an answer
2)The Road to Love(revised)
hard to explain
the feelings won’t fade
Concepts not understandable
you must work,
a proof nonetheless
Math is better done by two
maybe their answer,
as priority to you
time problems take,
and time learning will consume
hoping at the end,
an answer will bloom
not always taught
and sometimes hard to answer
so donate dedication
you’ll find an answer.
but surely wont fade

Monday Week
Today is monday,
the start of the week
with school and tutor,
i feel so weak
i get to hockey,
what a reliefe
the weekend is soon,
a mear belief
As monday goes bye,
i relief with a sigh
mondays are long
not as the weekend-
which i long
monday is a start,
which has no end
therefore i know
this cycle never ends
